Hi,
My name is Pengzhao Xie. Welcome to The Hidden Minds. This publication is to record my evolving thoughts and ideas on counseling.
Currently, I am studying in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at the University of Rochester. I completed my Psychology major at the University of Minnesota. There, I learned Psychoanalysis.
I have published a column titled Introduction to Psychoanalysis in Daily Life. I aimed to use accurate translated terminology to teach readers fundamental psychoanalytic theories and core concepts, as well as how they can apply these ideas in daily life and the business world to enhance their lives and broaden their mindset. Although only a few people purchased it, several key influencers bought it and promoted it to their followers.
Well, it was a good start.
Three months ago, I finally reached 800 subscribers, ten of whom are paid subscribers, and my 100th post.
As I continued reading extensively, my knowledge steadily grew, and I became increasingly weary of translating content into Chinese. At the same time, I found it essential to write about topics I genuinely enjoy, rather than merely fulfilling writing assignments, because writing is, in essence, a process of thinking.
I've created this channel to share my English writing and to connect with potential pen pals or comrades. I look forward to discussing a variety of topics with you all.
My psychotherapeutic methods and techniques build upon:
- Psychodynamics
- Human-centered
- Existentialism
- Multiculturalism
- Ecology System Theory
- BioPsychosocial Theory
- Meta-theoretical Integration
These Masters influence on me:
- Carl Rogers
- Irvin Yalom
- B.F.Skinner
- William James
- Sigmund Freud
- Jacques Lacan
- Carl Jung
- Pierre Bourdieu
- Nicholas Mirzoeff
- Didier Anzieu
- Michel Foucault
- Frantz Fanon
- Patricia Gherovici
- Régis Debray
The list is continuing accumulated.
Although I haven’t finished reading all the masters’ works—and I don’t think I ever will—their contributions have already illuminated the path in counseling.
That’s all…
Thank you for reading my work. See you next time.
